Forecasted as the last hot day, Sunday seemed fit for a picnic. When friends wrote on Saturday evening to request a ride home from church, we weren’t sure if we would be left with enough time for a leisurely afternoon in the park. Next morning, they had left a message that one child was sick, so they wouldn’t need transportation. The picnic plan was revived, and thankfully, it is alright if a picnic is a bit of this and a bit of that. As we drove home from church, I scratched out a list of things to pack in order to save time and avoid forgetting something. By quarter after 1, we were pulling into a parking slot near three shaded picnic tables. We weren’t the only ones out enjoying the beautiful day, but most of the other people were just passing with their dogs or children. Reportedly, my brother also enjoyed the park this weekend, though we didn’t run into him.
