You can adapt the ingredients to what you have on hand. This is just what happened to be available in my kitchen last night.
1/2 leftover asiago cheese bread square, sliced
2 pre-cooked Bob Evans sausage links, sliced
3 large eggs
1 c milk
1 t spicy brown mustard
1/2 t Worcestershire sauce
salt & pepper to taste
1/8 t ground nutmeg
Mizithra cheese, finely shredded
Oil a square baking dish. Line the bottom of the dish with the sliced bread, then place the sausage on top.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients (except the cheese). Pour this mixture over the bread and sausage.
Sprinkle the cheese evenly over everything in the dish. Cover the dish and put it in the refrigerator until morning.
