5 Month Rainy Season Predicted = Time for Tea

One of the local news programs says that the rainy season is supposed to last until February 2012. So, what better to do than try out some of the recipes in the Little Black Book of Tea?

This morning I turned to page 99 and followed the instructions for Lemon Cardamom Tea. The only thing I would change in the instructions would be to suggest that you crush the cardamom pods rather than just boiling them whole.

5-6 cardamom pods
2 1/4 cups of water
3 bags of black tea
2 strips of lemon peel
Boiled milk to taste
Sugar to taste

“Boil pods in water. Add tea leaves and lemon. Reduce heat, cover pot, and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes. Strain and serve with milk and sugar.”
