If you’re lucky you might find a zucchini smaller than a child’s baseball bat at the local fruit and vegetable store. Here in Bogota, I usually have more success if I look at a chain Surtifruver or at the upscale grocers like Carulla. There you will find several dark green squash wrapped onto a styrofoam tray with cellophane.
I didn’t make an extra trip out of the neighborhood. So this weekend I bought the “baseball bat”. After two meals with sauteed zucchini, red bell pepper and onion, it was time for something else: zucchini bread.
