Honey & Lemon

Yesterday, the sore throat advanced to a drippy-faucet nose and I became more convinced that I’ve probably caught una gripa.  People like to share advice. Lots of Colombians will suggest a mixture of panela with lemon as treatment for a cold. Magda even gave me a mug of curuba, yerbabuena and panela (I think that was what she said the ingredients were) yesterday morning during my class with Daniel. Joel prefers black tea with lots of honey and fresh lemon juice, and we can’t forget Rachel’s spicy cayenne concoction a few posts back (I must admit that I didn’t actually try the recipe out: spicy Mexican pizza was more up  my alley).

This afternoon I’m just preparing the honey-lemon mixture without the caffeine…and a bit of ground ginger.  We’ll see if it does any good.
