Chop Chop!

Asian-style Noodles with Beef  &  Soy-Sesame Green Beans

1/2 pound lomo de res (marinaded in a strange mixture of things I had/have in my fridge: soy sauce, olive-caper-tomato spread, curuba jelly)

sliced ginger, minced garlic, chopped red bell pepper

thinly sliced green onion tops, finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves

teriaki sauce, lightly toasted sesame seeds

boiled spaghetti noodles

Cut the beef across the grain into bite-sized pieces; stir-fry the meat until nicely browned. Add the ginger, garlic and bell pepper; continue to fry until the bell peppers are crisp-tender, then add the green onion and cilantro.  Add the teriaki sauce and noodles, stirring so that everything is well coated. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds.

For the Green Beans…I bought about 8 (?) fresh green beans and chopped them into 1-inch long pieces before slicing them length-wise into 4ths. I marinaded them for a few minutes with the last of a bottle of white cooking wine, some vegetable oil, salt and white pepper. I stir-fried them with a little bit of soy sauce and sesame seeds.

The rest of the meal?

fruit salad: papaya, pineapple & banana

soup: squash (I think I’m using the wrong kind: it’s sweeter than what we get at restaurants) and potato in chicken broth seasoned with aji

post meal beverage: green tea (what else would you expect? )
