General Prologue

Breakfast

Many of our Saturdays begin meeting with friends to read and discuss literature.

8a.m. may sound early to be out-and-about on a weekend, but the time works well for the people in our group for various reasons.

We start with a full breakfast, which, of course, includes plenty of coffee. Sometimes others will offer to contribute something to the morning meal.

Today the apple streudel came from Deborah, and the strawberries from Lindsay.

I used to try to make fancy foods, but Joel and Josh voted for the more hearty, "masculine" foods like bacon and eggs.  Deborah has even brought steak one or two times (The first time was torture for Josh, because he was fasting for a health test.).

Right now we are going through Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, in Middle English.
