We have been told that Icelandic lamb has a different flavor than what you get here in the States. Sooo, as is my custom, I bought something "special" last time I did a demo for Whole Foods Market. Icelandic lamb is available in their meat department. Two small loin chops (0.45 lbs) cost $14-something per lb. Recipe books recommended garlic and rosemary for seasoning. After letting the lamb marinade for about an hour, I broiled it for 17-20 minutes to make sure the internal temperature came to 140* F. Joel was wary from the start, but willing to try the ICELANDIC food. We agree that Icelandic lamb does taste different from American lamb. It had a marine flavor. Too lamb-y for us. We put down our forks and drove to Dinkytown to visit the bookstores…and McDonalds.
