Fruit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:

Galatians 5:22-23

The harshness of a summer sun did not yet burn this Saturday morning as Jen Martin and I kneeled in the straw-carpeted rows. Tall stalks of grass poked out like stilts, and a few vines coiled about the red ripe strawberries. We dreamed of acres of land to picnic in and soil to garden. How sweet to savor the harvest!

At noon I grilled pineapple and bananas that had been marinaded in cinnamon-sugar orange juice. We also had lamb and turkey in a “Mediterranean marinade”. It always strikes me that the world perspective of the people at Whole Foods Market is so different…both the employees and the patrons.

Emily Hood has acquired a new position at the store, as consigner (spelling?) Katie Bonneville stopped by to talk for a few minutes. Pray for both of them… and for me to be an example before them.
